Open Question: Would you keep reading this story to find out what the plot is or just what happens? Anyone who likes wol

Here's part of my story that is a loose fan-fiction of The Sight by: David Clement-Davies :

Larka lifted her head from her paws and pricked her ears, twitching them in the direction of the loud yowl. The pale gray and white she-wolf pulled herself to her paws and aproached the entrance to the cave.
"What is going on?" she asked as she stepped out into the sunlight.
"Kenji was just attacked by a porcupine," Sage replied nonchalantly as she continued plucking quills out of a dark gray he-wolf's side. Her red-tinged gray fur reflected the sunlight that seeped through the branches of the trees in the clearing.
"Ouch!" Kenji howled again.
"Hush you cub!" Sage snapped back.
"How did it happen?" Larka stepped over to Kenji and sniffed his side, pressing her snout against him gently.
"He provoked it."
"I did not!" the he-wolf protested
"Then what do you call charging up to the porcupine, sniffing it, then making fun of it's 'pointy-ness'?" Sage pointed out.
"Well how was I supposed to know what a porcupine was? I've never seen one before," he defended meekly.
"Whatever." The red-tinged she-wolf rolled her eyes.
Larka laughed.
"Hoooowwwwwwwl!" The joyous hunting howl split the air as three more wolves raced into the clearing, their jaws full of prey.
Tamar, Blancha, and Ria had returned from their long hunt with a rabbit and three squirrels. The three young wolves had left earlier that morning to find food, and now had come back with enough food for one small meal.
"Hey, how was the hunt?" Larka asked Blancha when the other wolf had dropped her catch.
"Alright. But-" The white she-wolf flicked her tail toward a spot away from the other wolves. Once they were over there she continued, "Tamar and Ria have been getting really close lately. And, uh..." She leaned closer to Larka and whispered, "I'm afraid for her. We can barely find enough food for ourselves, if she ends up pregnant she might not last through the winter."
"Oh I'm sure their little romance isn't serious enough for anything like that. And besides, Tamar would know better than to mate with her with winter on it's way and prey so scarce." Larka's light blue eyes flicked in the direction of the handsome, brownish gray he-wolf.
"But Larka, you should have seen them on our hunt. They couldn't stay away from eachother, and they pretty much ignored me," the white wolf argued.
"Blancha, relax. Ria and Tamar know they're too young for cubs, to even think of having cubs. And Ria's smart, she'll be able to keep Tamar away."
"Oh alright Larka, I'll just stop worrying about it, I guess."
"Good. Now let's go get some food before they eat it all!" Larka woofed. And the two she-wolves shot across the clearing to get their share of the prey.
